Part of my coaching and development includes helping others to improve their learning and problem-solving performance at work.
In order to achieve “peak performance” in thinking and learning, I help adults and children through Neurofeedback Training which can improve flexibility in brain functioning. This method uses EEG equipment to monitor the client’s brainwaves at relevant sites on the head and then gives feedback on this brain activity onscreen.
Through this feedback, the client is able to train his/her brain to use different brainwaves and function more optimally. The equipment allows the client to watch DVD’s or play computer games (without touching any controls) and rewards optimal brainwave activity with sound and on-screen activity. Ten to twenty sessions of 45 minutes are recommended to ensure that the brain training is most effective and is sustained.
Neurofeedback training can be used to improve performance in clients who experience difficulties related to:
- Stress and anxiety
- Learning Difficulties
- Sleep problems (insomnia)
- Minor Traumatic Brain Injury
- Tension headaches & migraines.
I can do this through:
Facilitating group training or individual coaching sessions
Helping clients to use the appropriate thinking styles for the work environment
Cogmed and other online brain training exercises to enhance working memory, attention, capacity to learn and behaviour
BrainWave Recursive Therapy
‘BWRT®’ stands for ‘BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®’, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. It’s a totally confidential method that does not require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist and it is carried out in a completely conscious state.
It does not use hypnosis or any concepts that might be considered mystical or unscientific – it’s completely logical, practical and down-to-earth, and for it to succeed only needs you to know what you want to change in your life. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code.
